This fresh, zippy Greek yogurt ranch comes together in just a few minutes, faster than it takes to head to the grocery store and buy a bottle of store-bought dressing. With a base of Greek yogurt, a hint of mayonnaise, dried herbs, and a secret ingredient (pickle brine!), it's got that creamy, tangy flavor you crave.

I'm honestly shocked I haven't shared this recipe until now, considering my absolute obsession with anything Greek yogurt and anything ranch. I love a traditional ranch dip as much as anybody, but I rarely have sour cream or buttermilk in my fridge, and I love the extra-tang of a Greek yogurt variation.
I loved the idea of a homemade dressing with 100% yogurt, but to be honest, it just didn't taste quite like ranch to me, so I ended up adding a couple spoonfuls of mayo, which really rounds out the flavor. You'll want to use less dried herbs than you think to avoid a gritty consistency, and a bit of pickle juice (if you have it) will bring this to the next level.
Key Ingredients

- Plain Greek Yogurt: For the creamiest results, I recommend full-fat yogurt (or, make your own homemade Greek yogurt!)
- Spices: Some recipes will call for a plethora of spices, all you really need are onion powder, garlic powder, and dried dill.
- Fresh Herbs: I highly recommend a bit of fresh dill, chives, or even scallions to brighten things up a bit.
- Optional - Pickle Brine: Adding pickle brine gives this dish a more craveable flavor, but it's optional. I just use a little bit of brine from a jar of pickles! You can also replace the brine with 50% water, 50% white vinegar, and a small pinch of sugar.

Recipe FAQs

Leftover ranch can be stored in the fridge for 5 - 7 days.
In addition to the serving suggestions above, it's a great marinade for grilled chicken!
It depends! If you'd like a flavor that's very similar to traditional ranch, I'd recommend trying the recipe as is. If you want something a bit fresher and tangier, you can sub the mayo with more yogurt.

Owner's Review: I tried other Greek yogurt ranch recipes, and the problem that I had was that they didn't quite taste like the ranch dip I know and love. *This* version is not like that, thanks to a little mayonnaise and pickle brine! It's so addictive!
